Thrilled

I learned this morning that this photograph of mine, entitled Mosca, has been selected to appear in an exhibition of black-and-white images at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. The selections were made by Karen E. Haas, Lane Curator of Photographs, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and – considering the quality of the images selected in the juried competition – I’m thrilled. The exhibition is March 28-April 25. Unless money falls out of the sky, I won’t be driving to Vermont for the artists reception, but I wish I could.

I photographed this scene along a ranch road in the San Luis Valley, near the little town of Mosca, Colorado – hence the title. The high-altitude flatlands are just west of the Sangre de Cristo Range of the Rocky Mountains, and not far from Great Sand Dunes National Park.
