Today's Tennessean reports on rumors on capitol hill that more state legislators or other political figures may be arrested soon in the Tennessee Waltz investigation.

It would benefit all those folks willing to either rage or cheer the role goverment played in the aftermath of Katrina to give equal consideration to the widespread problems of government corruption in Tennessee. BOTH politcal parties are involved.

And not just TN Waltz. There are the drug trafficking charges against law enforcement across the state via Operation Tarnished Shield, and the years of investigation into gambling and corruption involving the cockfighting ring in ET -- which apparently includes DOT employees, according to the KNS -- abd the revolvng door from government to lobbyists, etc etc.

...... and a deafening silence on this issue today from TN conservatives.

At least, Bill, you DO report these stories of corruption. I guess it befuddles the crowd when one party or the other can't take the role of whipping boy.

Joe P.,

Not sure what is meant by "deafening silence on this issue today from TN conservatives." I'll check w/ my conservative buddies Ward Crutchfield, Kathryn Bowers, Roscoe Dixon, Michael Hooks, Barry Myers, Charles Love and John Ford and get back to you.

Not meaning to be obscure, I was refering to the lack of reader comments here, epsecially after scores of them were willing to debate so vocally on the failures after hurricane Katrina.
And it's not just the legislature.
It appears to be endemic to governemnt in TN.
Too bad your roll call of names left so many out.
