Church Growth

Mark Tapscott wonders if the mainstream media will take notice of an interesting stat in the recent construction data: of all forms of non-residential construction, church construction is growing the fastest.

Bill,
I get the sense you are concerned the new interest in individual and corporate Blog-advertising are stealing the thunder of the purely paid political blogger (Or perhaps just the blogger who does not have the Right perspective.) All those pesky opinions. ("I'm Spartacus!")
At long, long last the American public no longer needs or wants the spoon-fed realities dished out by lobbyists, consultants, corporate media empires or even the faux grassroots information pretending to be 'jes folks.
Little terrifies the Paid Professional as much as the non-paid amateur who just says "here's what I think" and they are often joined my millions of other voices.
In recent Salem Statesmen Orgeon paper they write:
"Blogs, or web logs, started in the early 1990s as an offshoot of Web sites. Most were just personal diaries where bloggers could post their intimate thoughts and feelings.
But as Internet popularity rises, so has the use of blogs to do everything from covering political events to posting favorite recipes. The uses are endless, and the popularity of blogs is skyrocketing."
Gasp!!! Personal feelings?!?!?!
And church weblogs sprout up as often as churches split apart from one another over a host of unimportant isses.
Blogs mean the press, the publishers, the broadcasters and the spindoctors are losing their unpleasant grip.
That is long overdue.

Bill,

I appreciate the link to the construction data. I added some more to the story by including some information of other types of church growth that will not be found in these statistics on constructions.
