« Good Question | Main | Guest Blogger » August 5, 2005Attack of the Stepford FansChris Jackson, the youngster behind the pro-Harold Ford Jr. blog, where he essentially repeats Ford campaign materials and talking points, now wants to organize an astroturfing campaign on Ford's behalf. Ford supporters to respond to attacks on Ford in any media, including blogs, where they would post comments defending Ford. Jackson does not allow critics of Ford to post comments on his pro-Ford blog. Jay Bush has the details. Posted in 2006 TN Senate Race

What is his connection to the campaign? I've inferred from the responses he's given on other blogs that he is actually a Ford campaign employee. That makes his whole "I'm just a local blogger boosting for change" a bit disingenuous. Posted by: Katherine Coble at August 5, 2005 09:56 AMBill, why must you not tell the truth? Have you looked at our blog? Have you read the comments posted? Does it look like I am deleting critics of the Congressman. Our rule is simple--don't bash the Congressman and don't come there to campaign for another candidate. That is simple. I also noted that a civil debate of the issues is one thing--but attacking and mudslinging is another. If the posts on the blog are unacceptable in our view, they will be removed. Is that too much to ask for guests to follow while on our blog? I don't think so. Posted by: Chris D. Jackson at August 5, 2005 02:03 PMChris, your rules are so vague as to allow you to delete any comment that you wish. If I posted that Ford had flip-flopped on the Kelo decision, you could call it "bashing" Ford and delete it. Posted by: Bill Hobbs at August 5, 2005 02:22 PMBill as I have said, a debate on the issues, such as Kelo, is fine. However, what I don't want on our blog is personal attacks and such on the Congressman. Just look at the blog now, do you see where I have deleted any of your comments? How about Jay's? It is an open forum for the discussion of the issues. However, like I said, no bashing or campaigning. Posted by: Chris D. Jackson at August 5, 2005 02:56 PMAnd yet you have posted many a comment here on my blog filled with links to Harold Ford campaign materials - campaigning for your candidate on my blog, which I'm not allowed to do on yours. Consistency is the hobgoblin of liberal minds. Posted by: Bill Hobbs at August 5, 2005 03:52 PMChris - "Chris D. Jackson - Official Internet Censor, Harold Ford for Senate campaign." Listen, kid, maybe you should really start listening instead of talking or writing. Every day that goes by, I am more convinced that you are in over your head. Cheers, Rob Bill--you have your rules and I have mine, what is so hard to understand about that? Rob--I thought the same thing about you the first time I read one of your posts. Have a nice day. Posted by: Chris D. Jackson at August 5, 2005 07:19 PMChris - When you are old enough to drink a beer, we can chat about how the political system works. Until then, maybe you should let the adults handle the Senate race. Cheers, Rob Ohboy, am I ever looking forward to the day this trashtalk comes back to haunt you. Post a comment
