Corker's No Reagan, But...

Is former Chattanooga Mayor Bob Corker, now running for the U.S. Senate, a Reaganite conservative? Nathan Moore says yes. Jay Bush, Matt White and Rob Huddleston disagree.

Corker insists he is a conservative Republican - but if your campaign is focused on trying convince conservative Republicans that you're one of them, despite your record of raising taxes, supporting abortion rights, and holding fundraisers for Democrats, you have a problem.

Corker's no Reagan. He's a moderate Republican - more conservative than likely Democratic nominee Harold Ford Jr. or Ford's rival state Sen. Rosalind Kurita (whose campaign, it should be noted, has started advertising on blogs). If Corker is the GOP nominee, I'll unexcitedly vote for him.

UPDATE: There's a new blog backing Corker. It's called Conservatives for Corker. I don't know whether it is grassroots or astroturf. If it's updated as often as Blogging for Bryant, things could get rather spirited and fun.
