Stepford Fans

Chris D. Jackson, Vice Chairman of the Lawrence County Democratic Party, and a big fan of U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Jr., has started a pro-Ford blog.

Jackson emails: "The Ford campaign now has its own support blog: http://haroldfordjr2006.blogspot.com."

In one post, Jackson notes a recent article published here in BillHobbs.com the online magazine titled "Harold Ford Casts a Vote Against Civil Rights," in which I noted that Ford had voted against legislation curbing Kelo that was supported by key members of the Congressional Black Caucus because of Kelo's negative impact on civil rights.

Jackson's post notes the various Stepford comments that suddenly filled the post's comments thread, and then says this:

As you can see by the rapid responses above, Congressman Ford is quickly buidling an online coalition that is to be reckonedconked [sic] with. Maybe the online bloggers who like to attack Congressman Ford so much will think twice the next time.
First, it should be noted, that my article did not "attack" Ford, unless you believe that exploring a candidate's stance on issues is an "attack." My article merely reported on Ford's vote against what some civil rights leaders and colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus described as pro-civil rights legislation.

Second, anyone who thinks getting a little flack from press release-regurgitating talking-points-repeating Stepford fans is going to intimidate into silence those of us who believe Harold Ford Jr. is wrong on the issues and wrong for the Senate, is, well, delusional.

Also, please let me add this in here:

Note: This blog is not the official blog of the Ford For Tennessee campaign. We are a grassroots blog dedicated to supporting Harold Ford Jr. in every way possible. Later down the line during the campaign, Ford For Tennessee may choose to have an official blog, but until then, we hope to be a central support station for the Congressman. It shall also be known that the views and comments on this blog are in no way reflective of that of the Honorable Harold Ford Jr.

Thanks, CDJ

Jackson's blog is a meaningless knee jerk reaction to reading your site, Bill. I'd be willing to bet he doesn't post for more than another week or so before he gives up on it. I mean, he's on blogspot; how serious can he be? You just keep up the good work here. People need to know the truth.

We (Ford supporters) are in it for the long haul. I am dedicated to helping elect Harold Ford Jr. the next US Senator from Tennessee. I will keep the blog update daily with Ford news, info, upcoming event, ect. We are serious in our mission and will go away during any timeframe.

Hey now Dave, people using blogspot are serious bloggers too!

LiveJournal bashing has evolved into BlogSpot bashing.

One thing the ford fanatics have learned to do is spam. Someone named Bone has loosed the spammers with a vengeance.
