Let's Do Lunch

Nashville and Tennessee political bloggers interested in getting together for lunch once a month please email me at bill-at-billhobbs-dot-com and let me know if certain days of the week or times would be better than others, and what part of the Nashville area might be the most or least convenient for you. I'm looking for this to be a nonpartisan (or bipartisan or multi-partisan) event. I've also got some ideas for how the entire Nashville and Tennessee political blogosphere, regardless of political affiliation or ideology - can work together to achieve some things we probably all agree on: a more open, honest and responsive state government.

Great idea, Bill. I probably wouldn't be able to make it even on the light schedule you propose, but who knows? Some things could change.

And you are right that we can all work together toward that common goal.

Count me in. As you can probably predict, I'm a vegetarian,(I promise not to metnion PETA at lunch)so any place is fine with me...though West side/Vandy area is better for me. I have physical therapy on Tuesday and Thursday, so MWF is better for me.
May I be so bold as to suggest a name for this group? This might surprise you, but I am a super sports freak. With that in mind, how do you like "The NBA" for this group? (Nashville Bloggers Association) Randy over at Sunset Grill might set up the back room for us if there are a lot of people.
I've been wanting to meet everyone. It might be a good time for me to discuss an idea I've run by a few conservative bloggers about doing an online blog that is sort of like Crossfire....you know, both the liberal and conservative view for the big issue that day. I don't think anyone is doing that, and I think it could be very successful and important in the overall dialogue of bloggers.
Anyhow, count me in.

So far I've heard from the two people who posted comments above, plus Adam Groves, Bob Krumm, Jay Bush, and Roger Abramson, who blogs for the Nashville Scene PithInTheWind.com. It seems the idea is being welcomed.

Sharon Cobb thinks we should name the group the Nashville Bloggers Association. I was considering "Volunteer Alliance," as I already have bought the domain name VolunteerAlliance.com. Perhaps the Nashville Bloggers Association website could be housed at www.VolunteerAlliance.com.

Wait. Before we name it or build a website for it, first we have to have a successful lunch.
