« The Too-Cautious Candidate | Main | Ethics Best Practices » June 15, 2005Chavez: Blogs "Taking Aim" at "Bredesen's Supposed Fix of TennCare"
The blogosphere helped sink Dan Rather when he did wrong. Now it's taking aim at Gov. Phil Bredesen's supposed fix of TennCare. The blog sites are worth following as the situation becomes more desperate for 200,000 Tennesseans who will lose their health-care coverage by month's end. The effort to oppose the way Bredesen is cutting TennCare is not about stopping reform and reducing costs. It is about doing the fix right, to minimize the cost to taxpayers and suffering to enrollees. It's about removing the politics from Bredesen's plan that's now aimed to make TennCare's bottom line rosy for his re-election.Information you rarely get from the MSM, except for from a few good columnists like Tim Chavez, who is, as far as I can tell, the only Nashville newspaper journalist to mention Cobb's well-done expose and documentary so far in print or broadcast.
