« Seven? | Main | Leave the Lobbyists Out of It » June 13, 2005Rep. Campfield Details E-Cycle ContactAppearing on the Nashville radio show Teddy Bart's Round Table today, state Rep. Stacey Campfield, R-Knoxville, revealed that he was approached by a representative of E-Cycle, the phony company set up by the FBI as part of the Operation Tennessee Waltz sting that nailed four sitting lawmakers. He says he was offered what he took to be a campaign contribution and told the E-Cycle rep that he took only individual, not PAC contributions, and couldn't take campaign contributions during the legislative session. "I really didn't take it as an offer for a bribe or anything like that. And when their bill came up I actually railed against it. It came through one of my committees and I said it was a bad bill.."You can hear the whole story starting at about 50 minutes into the program, which you can hear archived online here. Campfield's blog is here. Posted in Tennessee Waltz
