A Nashville Scene

I took my camera with me when I left campus for lunch today, on a hunch I might see something worth photographing. Sure enough, I was barely a block from campus, at a stop sign waiting to turn right, when this Mercedes came speeding past, with a guy standing up through the sunroof, filming. The camera - you can see the back of it there on his right shoulder if you click the picture for the larger version - looked like one of those rather large cameras that a TV news photographer uses, though I don't know if it was video or film.

I caught up with them at the next traffic light, zipped down my window and asked, "What are you doing?"

"We're making a movie about Nashville," he said.

And then they sped off.

As you can see here, the car, with a University of Southern California sticker on the back window, sports a bumper sticker that reads "Question Reality" and a license plate frame reads "On the road of Happy Destiny."

It all seemed to make perfect sense.

UPDATE: I wonder if they were practicing for this.
