Yeah, John, they did. But you accepted the cash they offered to buy your support for their legislation. Essentially what former state Sen. John Ford wants you to believe is he would only accept bribes from crooks and liars, never from an honest man. UPDATE: The Tennessean's Trent Seibert had a story yesterday looking at some of the bizarre incidents in Ford's checkered past. It's a must-read. Hat tip: Blake Wylie. Posted in Tennessee Waltz

"Essentially what Ford wants you to believe is he would only accept bribes from crooks and liars, never from an honest man." Somehow, the wording of this strikes me as odd. I wonder what the difference is between an honest bribe and a crooked bribe. It kinda made me chuckle. Thanks Bill. :) Posted by: RudeJelly at June 9, 2005 08:19 AMBill, I was astounded when you suggested that within 30 days, Ford would be crying racism. I figured it would take about 30 minutes. Right on time, and he is playing the Marion Barry "the b**** set me up" gambit. this stull almost writes itself, no?? Posted by: John Cunningham at June 9, 2005 12:17 PM"The government...are the ones that are corrupt." Well put, Mr. Ford. Can we take that as a guilty plea?
