I have recently increased ad rates here at BillHobbs.com after reading a New York Times article about Nick Denton's Gawker network of blogs and learning that Denton's lowest ad rates are $4 per thousand impressions. Given that this blog is read by about 30,000 different people every month, that would come to $120 per month. My current and past advertisers have been getting an absolute bargain even compared to Gawker's lowest rates per thousand impressions for a "button-sized" ad. So, I have raised my ad rates - though you still get a much larger ad for a much smaller price.

And my rates for a three-month placement are about half the cost of buying three one-month spots. I'll be raising the price of a three-month slowly over the next few months, so you might want to grab space now while it's still a bargain, and dirt-cheap compared to Gawker's rates.

Advertising on blogs is an inexpensive and effective way to get your service, product or message on front of thousands of people.
