« How Many People Could TennCare Keep For $870 Million? | Main | Policy Analysts Give Low Marks to Bredesen's $25m Pre-K Plan » April 19, 2005BlogNashville Reaches KnoxvilleToday's Knoxville News Sentinel has a big advance report on BlogNashville, the big bloggers conference coming to Nashville May 5-7. The story is by Michael Silence, the most blog-savvy newspaper reporter in Tennessee. Silence's online producer is already scheduled to attend BlogNashville, and Silence is making plans to attend as well. As of now, the only Nashville newspaper reporter or editor who has said he plans to attend is the Nashville City Paper's Don Mooradian. But perhaps the increasingly blog-savvy Tennessean will yet report on the conference and send some editors and journalists to participate and cover it. UPDATE: Trent Seibert of The Tennessean emailed to say the paper would be doing a story on BlogNashville soon. Seibert is one of the reporters at The Tennessean who seems to be waking the paper up to the existence and relevance of the blogopshere, so that's good news. Posted in BlogNashville

Bill, I think when word gets out about that Friday Night Party, we'll be having to turn-away media people, the crush will be so intense! Also, the Saturday-night "food for thought dinners" have tables reserved as some of Nashville's favorite eateries (the local-flavor spots, no chains) so, well, reporters with a Gannett expense-account are known to be drawn to such things, as well. All-in-all, the in-session and after-hours aspects of BlogNashville are shaping up well. Posted by: Rex Hammock at April 19, 2005 08:09 AMPost a comment
