Digging Up The Grassroots

Mark Tapscott continues to bird-dog a story that deserves much more coverage from the mainstream media than it is getting. More here. Apparently, the Left isn't happy that it has been revealed that the "grassroots" campaign for campaign finance reform was really an astroturf campaign funded by liberal think tanks and designed to muzzle conservative speech.

muzzle conservative speech? The liberals are just a bunch of dirty dogs for trying to muzzle the poor wretched conservatives. I believe that we need money in politics and that every campaign should spend millions and millions of dollars and that Haliburton and Carlyle Group and Enron and the weapons manufacturing division of GE should be able to have free speech and not be muzzled by Pew and the crooked democrats.

I believe we can solve our problems if we put more money into campaigns. I think that Israeli Pacs and lobbies should have more influence, not less. Don't muzzle Israel! Thats my motto.

Who are these people who wrongly want to take the influence of money out of campaigns? They must be dirty rotten welfare bums who don't have any money and can't influence anybody and they're just plain bad sports.

Up with money! Congressmen should spend all their time raising money and the ones who can outraise the others should win re-election everytime. I give all my support to those who can raise enough money to put Willy Horton ads on tv so they can help me figure out who to vote for. I like to know who loves America and who is tough on crime and who wants to engage in nation building and create big government by funding social programs for people who don't have any values.

Keep up the good work guys.

Corporations, unions and interest groups all represent segments of the American population - and no segment of the American people should be barred from spending as much money as they wish to make their views known on the issues.
