« Legislator Blog Flap Postscript | Main | A Fine Barn » March 31, 2005Will The Tennessean Embrace Blogs?A Tennessean editorial on the flap over state Rep. Stacey Campfield's blog calls Democrats "petty" for killing one of Rep. Campfield's bills because they don't like his blog - and tells Tennessee legislators to "get with it: Bloggers are here to stay." In fact, the paper seems to like the idea of legislators blogging: Free speech should be welcomed in a stuffy General Assembly that hasn't always embraced it. The only caveat should be civility.True. While I don't like the very Right Wing agenda that the blogger in question projects, I do like that he -is- in there transcribing things and speaking of issues/emotions that are normally never heard (or paid attention to). This is a very good thing. Posted by: Evan Erwin at March 31, 2005 10:27 AMThe Memphis CA also had an editorial today, though I don't think they ever reported the story itself. It's typical of the new-style CA. Posted by: mike hollihan at March 31, 2005 10:04 PMPost a comment
