Weather Blogging

Nashville's WKRN-TV Channel 2 has started a weather blog. I wish I'd photographed the big pile of hail that appeared to have erupted from the ground at my house this morning. Seems it all came down the rain gutters and flowed through the underground pipe that carries rain from the gutters underground below the mulched landscaping and deposits it on the lawn via a ground-level pop-up valve. So much pea-sized hail came down the pipe and up the pop-up drain that it forced the valve cover about 6 inches off the ground.

Weather is popular - witness the sucess of The Weather Channel and "weather porn" such as tornado videos and natural-disaster specials - so WKRN probably will have a hit with its weather blog at NashvilleWX.com. UPDATE: According to SiteMeter, the brand-new weather blog is averaging more than 700 visits per day.
