At the Intersection of Faith and Work

joyatwork.jpgDennis Bakke, author, entrepreneur, business management paradigm-breaker, and modest billionaire philanthropist, will be speaking on Wednesday afternoon, and it will be a privilege to hear him and to meet him.

Bakke has just published a new book, Joy at Work: A Revolutionary Approach to Fun on the Job, which chronicles the revolutionary no-management approach that built AES Corp. into a global energy giant.

bakke.jpgA billionaire who gives most of his money away, Bakke is well-known as a Christian thought-leader in the area of financial stewardship.

Bakke is on a book tour to support his new book, which you can read much more about at DennisBakke.com. It's a good website, (but Bakke really needs a blog!)

Bakke lives on 1 percent of his income and gives away 99 percent as co-founder and CEO of AES, a worldwide energy giant. His national book tour for "Joy at Work" brings him to Belmont to talk about faith-inspired living and giving. Bakke not only oversees a company with 40,000 employees in 31 countries with $8.6 billion revenue, he also created the Mustard Seed Foundation to support Christian community development. His book tells how he is challenging the business establishment with revolutionary ideas.

Bakke will speak from 4:00-4:30 p.m., then questions, and then sign books. Location is the Neely Dining Room on the Belmont campus.
