« Revolting! | Main | News from the Blogosphere » March 6, 2005Don't Quit - Blog!Via Lance Frizzell, I learn that Carrie Ferguson, one of the best writers at The Tennessean, has quit her day job (after 16 years as a journalist) in order to be full-time mom to her toddler daughter. Ferguson was not only one of the best reporters at the paper, she was one of the nicest people there, at least back when I worked there for about 18 months in the mid-1990s. Carrie, you should start a blog. Trust me - it's better than working for a newspaper. You get to write about what you want to write about - and do it on your own schedule. I'd be happy to help you set one up. Posted in Miscellaneous

"Ferguson was not one of the best reporters at the paper,..." Bill: an unfortunate omission of "only" which reverses your intent! Posted by: Levans at March 6, 2005 01:00 PMEr... thanks. I fixed it. One of the great things about blogging is, no editors. Sometimes, however, it would be nice to have a copyeditor! Posted by: Bill Hobbs at March 6, 2005 01:15 PMThat is an excellent idea. I hope Carrie does that. Posted by: Lance at March 6, 2005 02:39 PMI think she should concentrate on the toddler - otherwise she'll be up past midnight trying to fix the typos in her last post.
