« A First Look at the 2006 U.S. Senate Race in Tennessee | Main | The Latest Media Scandal » February 2, 2005Is Bredesen About to Break the Bank?Matt White shreds Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen's "State of the State" speech and budgetary plans. Phil Bredesen gave his State of the State address before a house chamber, packed to the gills. I would contend that this little diatribe should be termed the State of the Bank...because he's about to break it. Of course, his willing accomplices in the press have showered him with praise for his effectiveness, brilliance and management acumen. But there's two sides of the story and, odds are you came here to get the straight scoop and so that is what you shall get.Read the whole thing. And thanks for the link, Matt. Bill anything you can do to get Matthew White to blog more often would be appreciated! The two of you are the most insightful sources on Tennessee politics we've got. Posted by: sbk at February 2, 2005 03:44 PMI'd love to blog more but that darn job thing keeps getting in the way! Thanks for the link, Bill. Posted by: The Groundskeeper at February 3, 2005 08:02 AMOn a related note (but a slight change of subject) - have you noticed (some) Republican's shameful defense of TennCare? I am hearing Republicans accuse Bredesen of "killing people" because of his TennCare policies. This is nasty hyperbole straight out of the Democrat playbook. Republicans who are actually defending the failed TennCare monstrosity should be ashamed of themselves. Just an idea for something to keep an eye on.
