Is it "Anti-Muslim" To Tell the Truth?

The city government of Nashville now considers it "anti-Muslim" to tell the truth about the largely Muslim roots of anti-American terror attacks over the past few decades. Today's Tennessean reports...

This is a cautionary tale for anyone forwarding chain e-mails. Remember, that message eventually could be traced back to you. That's what happened to a Metro employee who could face disciplinary action for forwarding an e-mail that makes derogatory comments about young Muslim men and their alleged ties to crimes and terrorist activities over the past thirty-plus years. The forwarding of the message violated a Metro e-mail policy that prohibits using city e-mail for sending offensive information.

The message is a sarcastic multiple-choice test listing 12 historic incidents, many of them attacks against Americans, including 9/11 and the taking of hostages in Iran and other attacks on U.S. citizens and embassies overseas.

In each case, there are throwaway answers blaming figures such as Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny, with a letter D answer blaming Muslims.

The chain e-mail was received by Lori Lazo-Bell, an employee of the city's finance department, and she forwarded it to several people on Jan. 13 using her Metro e-mail account.

By Monday, the e-mail had been passed on to a West Virginia man, who sent it to Mayor Bill Purcell's office and some Nashville news media. The man was outraged by the contents, and Purcell asked for a review by Metro Finance Director David Manning, who sent an apology to the man, whose e-mail was signed Jim Castleman.

Manning said the employee used "poor judgment" in forwarding "such an inappropriate message."

I've seen that quiz. It is 100 percent historically accurate and uses humor to make a legitimate political statement regarding the way some American leaders try to be "politically correct" and not let the obvious Muslim roots of the threat we face guide how we screen passengers at airports. The result: we screen elderly women and little kids, and others who don't fit the profile of a likely terrorist.

Yes, I saw the article in the paper this morning and thought I recognized the e-mail. I saw it over a year ago I think. As the father of a first grader, I shudder to think of how these events will be taught in school, or if they'll be mentioned at all, for fear of "offending" someone.
On a somewhat related note, I was cleaning files off of my computer the other day and ran across an audio collage of the events of September 11th. Listening to it still chokes me up. I don't want to forget.

Can you forward me that audio file?

On the way. Email if you have any trouble getting it.

It is technically wrong to send non-work email while at work. But, simple question: is she the first city employee to do such?

She's being singled out, wrongly. Come back and discipline her after you've disciplined everybody else in the department who's forwarded such stuff around.

I doubt very much that the city would not have been so upset if the answers to all those questions were either:

The KKK or the Aryan Nation.

Bill, thank you for your defense of Lori Lazo-Bell. You obviously get it. We at ROPMA.NET created the " muzzie quiz" shortly after September 11th, 2001 to make a point: That the United States of America has been at war with Islamic Terrorism for much longer than most people think or believe.

Islamic Terrorism touches me in a personal way. I know the family of one U.S. Marine who was killed in the 1983 Beirut Barracks bombing. I know people who escaped the WTC in 1993 with the first WTC bombing. I knew two people who died on Sept. 11th along with others - including the CEO of a company I used to work for - who barely escaped before the towers collapsed.

Islamic Terrorism against the United States didn't start on Sept. 11th 2001, or in 1993 with the first WTC bombing, or in 1983 with the Beirut Barracks bombing. It's been going on for more than forty years against America. When will this country wake up? How many more Sept. 11th's do we need to have before President Bush finally stops saying "Islam is peaceful?" Anyone who's studied Islam objectively knows Islam is anything but peaceful.

I had an Islamic/Middle Eastern studies course in college, and I've read the Qu'ran as reqiuired reading. Factually speaking, Islam was only "peaceful" until the number of Mohammed's followers grew in enough numbers and strength that he could forcefully impose his will on others. Once Mohammed had the physical force, Islam stopped being "peaceful" and started imposing its will at the edge of a sword. That Islam seeks to expand at the edge of a sword is clearly evident today. Of the 24 known conflicts going on around the world, 22 were started by Islamists. (Source: United Nations.)

ROPMA.NET is committed to exposing radical Islamic Terror and its supporters by any means necessary. Frankly speaking, humor is a great weapon. It offends those who should be offended, and educates those who need to be educated.

Forgive me if I don't sign my name, I receive enough death threats via Ropma.Net's email simply for running the site.

Thanks,Webmaster @ ROPMA.NET
Your quiz certainly tells the truth and stand up Americans like you and Lori Lazo-Bell and others will always be attacked for the truth. History tells the story of many that stood tall, as Reagan did to leave Communism on "The Ash Heap of History", hopefully George Bush will also leave terrorism on” Ash Heap of History.

Let's stop the nonsense about Islam being a religion. They do the same things the Mafia does:hijack, cut throats and make people sleep with the fishes(Leon Klinghoffer). The only difference is Islam doesn't use meathooks. The Arabs gave the world the zero and that's where they remain today. No runs(Except to hide inside the mosque). No hits(except upon the WTC).And no errors(except to tangle with Bush).
