Watching the Watchers

The Nashville Scene is questioning whether Trent Seibert, the new star reporter hired by the big local daily to cover the state legislature, has a record of getting facts wrong.

As the Tennessee legislature rumbles into session, it really doesn't matter to me whom the Tennessean or the Nashville City Paper have covering the state legislature, as long as they don't report from a biased viewpoint and do their best to be honest. If they provide biased and/or inaccurate coverage of the issues I care about here at HobbsOnline, such as state budget and tax policy, I'll bring it to your attention and set the facts straight. That's the best and highest use of blogging, in my opinion - serving as the final fact-checker of the mainstream media. Welcome to Nashville, Mr. Seibert.
