Traffic Report

Via Instapundit, I saw N.Z. Bear's analysis of the post-election traffic decline at a few of the largest political blogs. HobbsOnline also saw a big surge in readership in the run-up to the November election, and a decline since election day - but not a complete decline. It appears the election-drive surge in readership resulted in a sustained increase in readership for this blog of about 20 percent.

From January through June of 2004, HobbsOnline was read by an average of 24,166 unique visitors per month, and overall visits averaged 53,898 per month, according to AwStats. In October, as election interest skyrocketed, the number of UVs rose to 57,806 and total visits peaked at 133,373. In December, traffic had declined to 28,809 UVs and 64,390 total vistits - both stats 19 percent ahead of the monthly averages for the first half of the year.
