Happy Hanukkah

Dave Kopel explains the deeper meaning of Hanukkah. Why do I support Israel? It isn't because I believe Israel must exist for Jesus to return, a common belief of evangelical Christians that I don't share. It is because they represent the ongoing struggle against tyranny.

Mr. Hobbbs:

We supporters of Israel deeply appreciate your support no matter what the reasons. If Israel is defeated by the Islamofascists then the rest of the free world will have lost a bastion of freedom.
Israel is on the frontlines of this war whether the defeatist Europeans want to admit it or not.

I'll believe that Israel is against tyranny when I start seeing soldiers held responsible for the murders of people such as James Miller, Tom Hurndall, Aimen Alhamas, etc. By the way, Bill, what was that about shooting school-children in the back?

I need a house and some land. Can I have yours?
