Bible Blogging

Some months ago I wrote that I was reading It Takes A Church to Raise a Christian, an excellent book by Tod Bolsinger that I would review once I completed it. The thing is, I misplaced the book with about 25 pages to go and, when I finally found it, I was extremely busy with work and other things. I do plan on finishing the book soon. I can give you my short review now: Bolsinger's book is a thoughtful, practical and energizing clarion call for the Church to become what it was meant to be, a community of believers reflecting the communitarian nature of God. Church isn't about getting your theology exactly right or keeping a list of rules or working your way to salvation - it's about living in a community of grace with fellow believers and with God.

Bolsinger also has a new book out titled Show Time: Living Down Hypocrisy By Living Out Faith that looks promising and just got added to my Amazon shopping cart.

Bolsinger, by the way, has started a blog, It Takes a Church, that I expect will rapidly become a part of my daily blog-reading habit.

While we're on the subject of preachers who blog, you might be interested in RealLivePreacher.com, a weblog by a Baptist pastor, has become the basis of a book by the same name. Here's a book review I haven't read the blog or the book, but the latter has a cool cover.

Thank you so much for addressing the book. It is a really good book.
I attend a huge church, Oak Hills Church. The minsister is Max Lucado and he is a number one writer of books read world wide. When I can't attend I listen to him through my laptop @Upwards Ministry.

I apprecate you giving links to some christian bloggers. I have been reading, Reverand Sensing and of late, LaShawn Barbar.

I hope things are well with you and yours,

Blessings A Bounty Full, Janelle

The Oak Hills Church is probably where I'd go if I lived in San Antonio. Max I and graduated from the same university - just not the same year!
