A Blogiversary Approaches

Just thought I'd mention that the last day of this month, just a few weeks from now, marks the third anniversary of the launch of HobbsOnline. [Blogiversary gifts willingly accepted...]

This was my first post, dated Nov. 30. It actually was posted at my blog's original home, and transferred to this site when I moved my blog here in January 2004. That first post was read by, optimistically counting, six people, who found it via the link published with this newspaper column.

Oh, and if you thought blogospheric traffic would plummet after the election, you thought wrong - at least from my experience. Granted, HobbsOnline isn't seeing the server-taxing traffic it was seeing in the last few days of the campaign, but neither has traffic plummeted. Yesterday, even though I posted only a brief item about the battle for Fallujah, a Cox & Forkum cartoon and a photo of my son, more than 2,500 different people dropped by HobbsOnline. A few months ago, the site was averaging about 1,500 visitors per day. Two years ago, it was averaging about 100 visitors per day.
