« Osama Tape Mistranslated - And an Iraqi Blogger Explains Why Bush Victory is Crucial | Main | Ruin Their Day » November 1, 2004My Presidential EndorsementThis will surprise exactly none of you but I'm voting for George W. Bush tomorrow. It's not because of his position on tax cuts, although I believe he is right on tax cuts. It's not because of his position on oil exploration in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge, although I believe he is right on that issue. It's not because of his position on gay marriage or abortion or the Second Amendment, although I believe he is right on those issues. It's not because he is right on healthcare or education, although I believe he is right on healthcare and education. It's not because he is for policies that I believe are good for the economy, although I believe he is right on the economy. It's because George W. Bush is right on the War on Terror, and John Kerry is not. It really is that simple. I'm not going to rehash all of the arguments for Bush and against Kerry on the War on Terror. You can read everything I've written about it by clicking my War on Terror archive and my Campaign Season archive. The bottom line is the War on Terror is the only issue upon which it makes sense to make a decision in this race. Your position on tax cuts doesn't matter if we lose the War on Terror. Your position on abortion doesn't matter if we lose the War on Terror. Your position on gay marriage or oil exploration or the environment or "outsourcing" or healthcare or education or any other issue simply does not matter if we lose the War on Terror. None of those issues will matter at all if Islamist terrorists manage to get hold of weapons of mass destruction - nuclear, chemical or biological - and start killing Americans wholesale. And the clock is ticking. If I thought Kerry was right on the war and wrong on everything else, and Bush was wrong on the war and right on everything else, I would vote for Kerry and beg you to do the same. Let me repeat that. If John Kerry's promised approach to fighting Islamist terror was better than President Bush's - and if I could believe Kerry actually meant it and actually had the backbone to follow through with it come hell, high water or the French - I would walk into the voting booth tomorrow and cast my vote for Sen. John Kerry. But John Kerry is wrong on the war. That he is wrong on everything else too - and that President Bush is right on most everything else - merely means that tomorrow I'm not voting against John Kerry. I'm voting for - affirmatively, positively, and happily for - President George W. Bush. Posted in Campaign Season

The neo-conservatives have you eating out of their palm. Watch out for those terrorist wolves! Posted by: Lupine Catholic at November 1, 2004 10:46 AMThe neo-cons are right. But I guess you come from the Michael Moore side of things. Do you agree with him that there is no terrorist threat to America? Posted by: Bill at November 1, 2004 10:48 AMMr. Hobbs, As I have said before, it will be indeed difficult to find anyone in Tennessee, especially our neck of the woods, this time next year, who will admit to having voted for Bush. You have blown your opportunity to hide. Posted by: SemiPundit at November 1, 2004 11:33 AMBoy! They're really crawling out of the woodwork now! Stay the course Bill! Posted by: Jim at November 1, 2004 12:27 PM"This will surprise exactly none of you but I'm voting for George W. Bush tomorrow." Actually, it shocked me outta my socks. I'd have sworn that you would have early voted! At least we live in a 9/12 world, not a 9/10 world. You need not say another word because you stand firm and you put a lot of reasoning into your choices. Posted by: Janelle at November 2, 2004 01:02 AMPost a comment
