« Making Fun Of Kerry's Latest Lie | Main | Wolves » October 22, 2004Pa. Dems Working Hard to Cancel Military Vote
Blogs for Bush and PowerLine have posts on the brewing story. The basics: Pennsylvania mailed out absentee ballots to residents currently living out of state, including military voters overseas but also voters temporarily residing in other states. Those ballots included Ralph Nader as one of the choices, but a Pennsylvania court later ruled Nader ineligible for the ballot. New absentee ballots were sent out just a few days ago, and Gov. Rendell - who chaired the Democratic National Committee during part of the Clinton presidency - is refusing to extend the deadline for voters to return them. Meanwhile, vote already cast on absentee ballots that listed Nader will be tossed out. Those votes will not count and those voters will not have sufficient time to receive, complete, and return a new ballot. The latest poll has Bush and Kerryy virtually dead even in Pennsylvania. If you spot a news story about suspected voter fraud in your part of the country, please send me the link and a brief summary to voterfraud-at-gmail.com. Posted in Voter Fraud

democRATs trying to block votes that would probably be Republican? No. I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell yq. Shocked! Posted by: Mark Wolin at October 22, 2004 09:13 AMdemocRATs trying to block votes that would probably be Republican? No. I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell ya. Shocked! Posted by: Mark Wolin at October 22, 2004 09:14 AMBe advised that Rendell is not just excluding the military votes, he's forcing his Prison Wardens to make sure jailed criminals use the absentee ballot to vote. Ed Rendell is treating our brave soldiers like they are worthless scum who don't deserve to have a say in this election and he's treating prisoners like they are heroes who deserve to have everyone of their votes counted. This is reprehensible. All military contracts and installations should be immediately pulled from the state if this proves to be true. I cannot believe this gutless liberal has the nerve to try something like this. Shades of the election thief Al Gore and his band of lawyers. Posted by: JDG at October 22, 2004 10:44 AMIf I were a Nader voter, I would be furious. What they're doing cannot be legal, is it? Posted by: Bostonian at October 22, 2004 12:36 PMWhere is your outrage for this? According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, "Republican operatives working to re-elect President Bush" in battleground Pennsylvania "submitted last-minute requests in Philadelphia on Friday to relocate 63 polling places…Of the 63 requests for changes, 53 are in political divisions where the population of white voters is less than 10 percent." All 63 are "in political divisions where Democrats hold an overwhelming advantage among registered voters." The city denied the requests, saying they were filed too late to be eligible for a hearing and appeared to be "discriminatory." Where is yours. THe polling places were set up to afford an obvious advantage to predominantly Black districts, "disenfranchising" white voters, by forcing them to go to black areas of town to vote. Democratic intimidation anyone? Posted by: jdg at October 22, 2004 01:11 PMIt's nice to see that they are willing to pull out all of the stops. That is an obvious sign of fear. I honestly do not believe this election, if allowed to be done correctly and by the book, would be that close without the Dems trying to fix it. Funny how we aren't hearing ANY of this in the MSM. Posted by: Toni at October 22, 2004 01:32 PMSo a white person who doesn't want to be around black people is being "disenfranchised" because he/she can't stomach the idea of going into "black areas of town"? And who says that the Republicans would be so petty as to pander to bigots still living in 1950? Posted by: at October 22, 2004 01:33 PMVoter Fraud Alert: Federal, state, and local officials are gathering information about allegations of voter registration fraud that were first raised Channel 8 Eyewitness News. An employee of a private voter registration firm alleges that his bosses trashed registration forms filled out by Democratic voters because they only wanted to sign up Republican voters. http://www.klas-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2421595&nav=168XRvNe Posted by: TomJ at October 22, 2004 02:26 PMYou have all got to start seeing the BIG PICTURE. These are not just whites they are non-muslims or 'infadels'. A growing portion of the black community, especially in cities, are muslim. They have joined the cult of islam. The whites do not want to go into the black community because they are starting to see the growing hatred, many are afraid. We're at war, how could you think our electorial process would not be a primary battleground? Posted by: COVERUP.US at October 22, 2004 03:09 PMHey Tommy, Glad to see your ignored the facts in the post, just like you did in the other threads. Instead of throwing out false accusations of voter intimidation regarding polling places, why don't you comment on the absentee ballots being throw out...like you said earlier: "Support the Troops!" You don't hesitate to embrace our troops in other threads when it might hurt the GOP, but don't have a problem with this. You're a hypocrite of the highest order. Posted by: Ivan at October 22, 2004 03:30 PMTalk about a red herring!!! I guess I gave conniving conservatives too much credit, assuming they would be honest in presnting an issue. There is NO evidence that military votes will not be counted in Pennsylvania. The Bush campaign wants new ballots to be sent to the military to properly reflect the fact that Nader is not on the ballot. However, those in the military who vote for Bush or Kerry on those old ballots will be counted. Why are the Republicans so concerned about service men and women getting a new ballot that doesn't have Nader on it? Apparently, the Republicans petitioned the Court for the right to be able to FAX news ballots to the soldiers! Talk about opening up the process to abuse. Regardless, Bush will lose NO VOTES because of the Court's decision not to force the State of Pennsylania to send new ballots to the soldiers. Good luck finding some other false story to work up your base into hysterics. It was pretty deragotory towards Cavuto and signed "Tom J." Was that you? Be honest. Posted by: Ivan at October 23, 2004 01:01 AMCould it possibly be that the Dems know the majority of those in the Military will vote for Bush? It is really disgraceful that the very people who are in harms way are the ones the Dems could care less if there votes get counted. Posted by: Cathrine Colwell at October 23, 2004 05:21 AMNothing amuses me more than Republicans twisting stories, exaggerating them, or doing stupid things like one site did which compared Kerry's wish to have mandatory community service before high school graduation to INSTITUTING A NATIONAL DRAFT. So many contests are so close that the ROI for vote-rigging is very high. Democrats will point at the flagrant conflict-of-interest of Kathryn Harris in 2000 and the need to keep the vote out of SCOTUS, where a small minority of partisan appointments can overturn the popular vote, as apparently happened in 2000. Posted by: steve at October 23, 2004 10:38 AMIsn't there some sort of limit on how many idiotic leftist talking points are allowed per comment thread? Posted by: Big Dog at October 23, 2004 11:17 AMAs a Navy brat, a Vet, and currently an Army wife, I know first hand that the Liberals do everything in their power to ignore the military opinions and suppress our votes. Not to mention trying to weaken us by cutting funding for our housing, medical care, pay and most importantly our weapons and defenses. Most of the news media are in on it by constantly force feeding the public a steady diet of bad news and horror stories, anything to portray our brave men and women in a bad light. I might not always agree with the president, but let me tell you, John Kerry is a traitor to this country and it makes me SICK that he is allowed to even run for office, ANY office, let alone the Presidency. Posted by: Vtoria at October 23, 2004 02:05 PMThat late absentee ballot thing happened to me when I was at Pleiku, RVN in 1972. The ballot got to me the Friday before the election, or about four days. Yolo County Clerks have been Democrats since the mid-1960s, at least. Figures. Of course there would be no hint of suppression of the overseas ballots if said ballots arrived after the established deadline.
Of course it will be a date & time more conducive to exclude overseas ballots. Despite his committment to ensure ALL Pennsylvania voters will be able to cast their vote without barriers. http://www.virtualtours.state.pa.us/newsletter/default.asp?governorNav=|32024|&governorNav=|32024|
---------------------------------------- Let's see who's eroding the fabric of society, conservatives or liberals. This country was founded on Christian principles that conservatives embrace. Liberals, through the ACLU (Anti Christ Liars Union) have fought to remove all of those values through activist liberal judges who ignore the constitution and make up whatever "facts" they want. Because of this, the USA is rapidly becoming another Sodom and Ghommora. Wake up republicankiller. Learn the history of the USA before making your ignorant statements. Such a bastardly traitor is he that even in 2004 he continues to betray the brave men and women of the US Armed Forces by obstructing and twisting the absentee voting process. Gardner's race with Nicole Parra, the Democratic candidate has gotten unnecessarily bitter. Not only did Bermudez disappear, but her co-registrar did, too. An as yet unidentified body has been found, so burned that even the sex has been difficult to identify, southeast of this small town. No one seems to be connecting what they were doing in this Cesar Chavez run town to their disappearance. Having lived there at one time, I can assure you life can be rough there if one does not follow the line of thought of the UFW, of which Parra is an ardent supporter. Please check it out. Jeanne Posted by: Jeanne Eldredge at October 24, 2004 01:36 PMI believe one of the most important things this next president will do is appoint judges to the Supreme Court. We all know what type of judges that will be if Kerry gets in. I for one want this country to get back to Christian values. I ask all Christians to pray that happens. God Bless American and President Bush. Posted by: Carol Euwema at October 24, 2004 02:45 PMRepublicanKiller, You apparantly didn't read the original content of the Kerry/Edwards 100 day plan. While it's true that the current content on the website only discusses mandatory community service for high school students, the original content also included a mandatory 2-year military service in exchange for college. How about if you do some research before posting. The original content of the 100-day plan is available on web-caching sites if you'd only look. Best case of Kerry is that this is just another flip flop (the original content was conveniently pulled right before the "Bush is gonna draft you!" attacks. Worst case is that he is still planning on following his original 100-day plan and is going to enact mandatory military service. You also seem to miss the point that the US is a FREE COUNTRY. Even if his only agenda is forcing community service on high school students, it is wrong. Posted by: PA-Ray at October 24, 2004 05:28 PMI wonder what the results would be if there was no fraud at all. I can't help but think Kerry would get "maybe" 30 percent of the vote. Posted by: Wanda Martin at October 24, 2004 10:36 PMI'm am overseas and registered myself in June 2004 for this election. I got a letter about two weeks later saying I would get my ballot soon. 3 1/2 months later and still no ballot I started emailing the California Elections Division about it. Finally I got an email saying that my ballot was sent out 3 weeks ago, which would have made the date 16 September. I got my ballot a few days later and it was postmarked 29 Septemeber. They lied to me, plain and simple. I have been a registered 'CA Independent' for 15 years, but I changed that to Republican JUST FOR THIS ELECTION. Big mistake. I did get my ballot back in the mail on 12 October, but I just pray that it will be counted. I have written to the White House and President Bush about this. I too am very shocked at the how some American's are behaving, but I will continue to believe in the the decency and good of all people. I'm really glad I'm not in America at this time because I would be even more frustrated. Posted by: tedbohne at October 26, 2004 11:52 AMIs ABC too 'Republican' for you Ted? "Pennsylvania officials said Tuesday that they would fight the lawsuit, arguing that they will help overseas voters by offering overnight deliveries of ballots or allowing them to fax their completed ballots". Have you ever served overseas? The only problem with Mr Ed's plan is it is virtually impossible for a member of the US military to send a package overnight. Add on top of that the availability of obtaining a fax line; which btw, a faxed copy if dark enough, can be thrown out as 'unreadable'. Rendell is backpedalling from his original stance, but it still smells. Posted by: Toni at October 26, 2004 10:19 PMNever have I witnessed such a cacaphony of partisan blithering. County board of elections, which have the ultimate say in the process not Rendell, are overworked and underfunded; they have neither the time nor money to send out another series of ballots when the previously sent ballots will count. If you are so willing to spout political rhetoric (from both sides) then you should have civil devotion to volunteer at your local polling place (the average pollster is over 70 yrs old), or be willing to pay greater county taxes to fund your county board of elections. Quit whining about an issue much more complex than your simple partisan minds can comprehend and do something. Posted by: Goatalope at October 27, 2004 03:08 PMBreaking News! Whites have to go into muslim/black areas, subject themselves to threats and intimidation for going into the "HOOD" to cast their votes. You liberals should learn the reality of the black neighborhoods, go into them and get mugged, then tell me its all equal, or better yet wear the wrong colors and get attacked by the wrong gang. The dems stole Chicago, (Mayor Daly delivered the state for JFK, remember "Vote early, democratic and often"), in 1960 and are trying to steal Philly in 2004 while accusing the republicans of disenfranchising the black vote. What a crock of dirty tricks. Posted by: Paul Sprague at October 31, 2004 05:57 PMI'm so disappointed with Ed Rendell's comments on FoxNews Sunday w/ Chris Wallace. When asked about the OBL tape, Ed said it would help Bush because it reminds people that Osama is still out there, THEN he loses it and says, "there has been no better recruiter for Al-Queda than President Bush" and "Arabs hate Bush so much that this has created more terrorists than we can ever hope to kill" Rendell has been working hard for a position in Kerry's cabinet. He sent a memo inviting voter fraud in PA prisons, but luckily Congressman Curt Weldon discovered it has evidence of voter fraud occuring in Pennsylvania prisons. And Rendell almost succeeded in supressing the military vote, but now he's acting like a friend of the military, but it's not fooling anyone. Ed is a partisan hack who will stop at nothing to stay on the good side of Kerry and cheat for Kerry.
