« Voter Fraud Update | Main | Stem Cell Seminar » October 18, 2004More False Accusations from Gov. Bredesen
A top official of King Pharmaceuticals, which has been accused by state Democrats of pumping “dirty money” into Republican political campaigns, says the only contributions by top officials there have gone to Gov. Phil Bredesen and that the Democratic Party has falsely smeared the company.Yeah. And it's not the only time recently that Bredesen has stooped to spreading baseless accusations for partisan gain. My husband and I received the infamous $5000 refund from Governor Bredesen and yes, I'm naive enough to be shocked that the Democratic leaders would fabricate such a story and carry on a smear campaign against so many innocent people. I might have taken my $5000 and donated it to the Republicans, but I'm equally as stunned (well, almost) that the top leaders of the Republican party have stood on the sidelines, mostly silent, as the Democrats carry this ball and run with it. I'm not surprised to see the local media failed to confirm any of these allegations directly with TennCare. I'm also very sorry that the many wonderful employees of King Pharmaceuticals have been dragged into this web of deceit and lies coming directly from the very top leaders of our state. These hard-working and honest employees and taxpayers deserve the utmost respect from our Governor and the Democratic leaders--they don't deserve these lies and smear campaigns. In fact, all the people of Tennessee deserve honest and upstanding and respectful leaders. It's time we demand it. Governor Bredesen was quoted in other news as saying "I think the Gregory family wants to support very conservative Republican candidates, and that's their right,''...but you're clearly trying to influence the process, and I certainly stand away from that''. I'm wondering if people actually donate to political campaigns so they WON'T have any influence on the election? Most importantly, how does the Governor "stand away from that" when he has knowingly embarked on a fabricated smear campaign against innocent people--the hard-working employees, taxpayers, and voters living in this wonderful state?
