« "Against Democrats" ?!?!? | Main | More False Accusations from Gov. Bredesen » October 18, 2004Voter Fraud Update
If you spot a news story about suspected voter fraud in your part of the country, please send me the link and a brief summary to voterfraud-at-gmail.comJudging from the amount of email already awaiting me in that in-box, I expect to be adding to this post throughout the day... UPDATES: In Colorado, the Democratic Attorney General -who is also the party's nominee for the U.S. Senate - is under fire for responding too slowly to reports of fraudulent voter registration. Also reagarding Colorado, reader Mike W. sent a list of links to several stories, most from the Denver Post: Link 1 | Link 2 | Link 3 | Link 4 | Link 5 | Link 6 | Link 8 Basically, they all underline different aspects the apparently burgeoning voter registration fraud problem in Colorado, including allowing felons to vote, failing to purge the voter rolls of people who shouldn't be allowed to vote. Here is a related story from the Washington Times. In New Mexico, the Democrats in charge have made it easier to vote fraudulently by ending the requirement for certain voters to show ID. The Washington Times published an excellent story looking at the fraud-tinged voter registration push by a coalition of leftwing organizations and its ties to registration fraud. Here are some key nuggets: Authorities in several states are investigating whether thousands of voter registrations have been fraudulently submitted, many by members of the America Votes coalition. In Missouri, 11,700 dead people are still on the voter rolls. From Stockton, California, comes this story: Voter registration collectors backed by partisan dollars in the fierce battle to register voters in San Joaquin County have returned more fraudulent registrations ahead of today's close of registration than ever before, elections officials said. The story doesn't say which leftwing group was responsible for this particular set of voter registration fraud. Drudge reports that an Ohio man registering voters on behalf of the NAACP national Voter Fund was allegedly paid per registration with crack cocaine. The Assistant Director for Ohio for the NAACP National Voter Fund has been arrested. About 100 falsified registration were caught. the number that slipped through is unknown. I sense a new 527 about to be born: Drug Dealers For Kerry. Posted in Voter Fraud

Check out Joshua Sharf's website - A View From A Height - for the most comprehensive fraud-tracking of any Colorado blogger: http://www.viewfromaheight.blogspot.com/ Posted by: ColoradoConservative at October 18, 2004 01:55 PMGood work Posted by: Ralph at October 18, 2004 02:45 PMI did some simple web research into the groups accused of voter registration fraud in Colorado. ACORN's founder is Wade Rathke. He organized the New Orleans chapter of the Service Employees International Union Local #100 an arm of the AFL-CIO. He is also on the board of directors of both the Tides foundation and Tides Center. The Tides foundation recieves money from the Heinz Foundation. The New Voters Project of Colorado shows on its' website one of it's primary supporters is the Tides Foundation. The Colorado Progressive Coalition has on its' board of directors, Lena Potyondy. She is the Political Director for Colorado's Local #105 Service Employees International. Hmmmmm. Please everyone do searches on the groups accused of fraud or misconduct in your area. Look for these ties. If you recall the AFL-CIO was behind the Oct. 5th "Day of Protests" where Republican Campaign offices were taken over and some people injured. This smells of collusion. Posted by: Patti at October 19, 2004 06:29 PMHi, I have sent you several links about Republican voter fraud in Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Why haven't you posted them? Charles Posted by: Charles Giacometti at October 20, 2004 12:32 PMhttp://votepair.org is a site that matches independent voters in key states to voters for Kerry in other states. This is a blatant attempt at manipulating the outcome of the election. Posted by: Cathrine Colwell at October 20, 2004 03:26 PMCharles, don't be shy. Post a link right here. Let's see it. I was curious and did a google for voter fraud in PA, and out of the first 20 hits, I did not manage to turn up a single news story about Republican fraud. A few news stories did come up about DEMOCRATIC fraud, though. So help me out. Posted by: Bostonian at October 20, 2004 06:06 PMJust a few stories on Republican voter fraud. In Pennsylvania: http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/local/9956890.htm http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/states/pennsylvania/cities_neighborhoods/philadelphia/9953919.htm In Nevada: http://www.klas-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2437429&nav=168XS3j8 In South Dakota: http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/politics/9930911.htm?1c Also in Nevada: http://www.columbiatribune.com/2004/Oct/20041014News010.asp My point is that this goes both ways, and it is inaccurate to simply claim that only Democrats are guilty of this kind of thing. All politicians will do everything they can get away with. Charles Posted by: Charles Giacometti at October 21, 2004 12:51 PMAlso... I did a quick Google search, too, using "voter fraud Pennsylvania" as the search string and found plenty of voter fraud allegations pointing to both parties. See: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=voter+fraud+pennsylvania Also, I found what might be the left's answer to Bill Hobbs: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/10/13/15534/960 I didn't have to look very hard. Maybe your browser filters out bad news for Republicans? ;) Charles Posted by: Charles Giacometti at October 21, 2004 01:46 PMWell, Charles, you referred specifically to PA, so that's what I looked for, and it did not turn up in the first 20 hits. The other day, I googled "voter fraud" & looked at the first 40 or so hits. I set aside all the hits that were not news stories. Of the news stories, fraud stories that benefited Democrats easily outnumber those that benefit Republicans, and that's without even tossing out duplicate stories. A lot of the R stories were duplicates, though, so if I went back & tossed out duplicates, I'd end up with even greater disparity. Posted by: Bostonian at October 21, 2004 07:57 PMLawyers and Florida etc: I hope that this is old news to those who have the ability to respond to it, namely the army of lawyers who will "monitor" the Fla and other elections. Yesterday I was told that a number of SF Bay Area attorneys are flying to Florida and Ohio to be at the voting polls to answer questions about the elections there after having been briefed on the law in Fla/Ohio etc by protectelections.com. As I lawyer I asked, how can you practice law in Florida since you are licensed there? They are there to "spot issues" when voters ask them questions at the polls. The volunteer out of state attorney will then contact someone who is a licensed Florida/etc attorney who will then decide what to do. These volunteers will wear T Shirts that say "Any questions?" so they will be obvious. Can nonregistered voters themselves who are from other states do this? They are not just California attorneys but also coming from New York. Is this "monitoring" elections or "campaigning"? In California it used to be (and maybe still is illegal) for someone to campaign on election day withint 100 feet of a voting booth. This certainly sounds like an army of lawyers at polling booths in the battleground states. DETMIN As a "outsider" to you bloggers and politicians it is refreshing to me to see citizens taking it upon themselves to seek the truth and shine a light on the activities of the vicious attacks being perpetrated. It is simple to understand why the dem's cheating so way far out distance any rep's. They are the most desparate to cling to power. Dem's leadership has run this country into the toilet for the last 40 years and it is only now recently with rep's gaining congressional and white house control that we can begin to regain our place in the global family picture, if the vast left wing media and bush attack dogs would just be fair enough to sit down and shut up.
