« Voter Registration Skyrockets in Tennessee | Main | More on that Disgusting Democrat Poster » October 13, 2004Chechen Terrorists in the U.S.?From reporter Bill Gertz in today's Washington Times comes a very alarming report that underscores the importance of the coming election and its impact on continuing the aggressive war against Islamist terror: U.S. security officials are investigating a recent intelligence report that a group of 25 Chechen terrorists having links to Islamist terrorists illegally entered the United States from Mexico in July.A decade ago, the Chechen people had some legitimate beefs with the Russian government. But after Beslan, where Chechen terrorists co-mingled with Islamist wackos to gun down hundreds of school kids, I no longer care about their once-legitimate gripes at all. Once a group shoots school children in the back, the particulars of their political cause no longer matter. They are terrorists. Posted in War on Terror

The ramifications of having a man with fake conviction and waffling resolve can be devistating to this country. It still shocks me that "thinking" people could actually vote for Kerry. If you do any soul searching and introspective into who should run this country, Bush is the only answer. On bumper stickers I see :Who would Osama Vote For? The answer is so obvious. Yet, the realities of 9/11 and how they transpired is already in the selective memories and obfuscated by the likes of Moore who say it was Bush who caused it. Or just good ole denial. As my daddy once said." Dems will vote for a dog if it is running for office. 2004 ain't no differant. They say to hell with the ramifications. And they Vote Dem. Totally blind to the reality, their thinking fuzzied by sound bites of Halliburton and a screwed up war. I have met a ton of soldiers that were over there. The first thing when asked about Iraq is a sense of pride and reassurance that it going well. Of course it is. When we have only lost 1,000 men, and half of our country starts snivelling and wanting to fold their tent and go home. Well, the leftovers from the Soviet Empire wishes they could of only held on for a few more years. Posted by: Political at October 13, 2004 09:26 AMOnce a group shoots school children in the back, the particulars of their political cause no longer matter. Cool. So if we highlight an incident where, say, an Israeli settler has shot a schoolkid in the back, you'll no longer support Israel. Or for that matter, any of numerous incidents where Russian soldiers shot and killed schoolkids. Right? Right? Yeah, didn't think so.... Posted by: Michael Chaney at October 13, 2004 11:18 AMWithout drawing this out further, though, let me say that your callous disregard for the lives of 130,000 people is frightening, particularly when you profess to be a Christian in an earlier post. We need to learn to separate bad people from the causes that they may or may not support. Chechen terrorists are evil and should be killed. But to say that somehow invalidates the cause for the rest of their country, the vast majority of whom have nothing to do with any of it, is just disgusting. At some point, you either respect the lives of innocents or you don't. If you decide to pick sides and then proclaim that everybody on the "other side", combatant or not, child or not, elderly or not, etc. is fair game, then fine, go for it. But please don't tarnish my Christian faith in doing it. Posted by: Michael Chaney at October 13, 2004 11:24 AMI didn't say it invalidates their cause. I said when they resort to terrorism, I no longer care about their cause. Renounce terrorism, and their cause is again legit and worth caring about. Posted by: Bill at October 13, 2004 11:33 AMunderscores the importance of the coming election and its impact on continuing the aggressive war against Islamist terror Just one problem. It's Bush's Open Borders policies that allow things like this to happen. Laundry list to support that contention in the first comment here. Posted by: The Lonewacko Blog at October 13, 2004 12:40 PMAfter Dred Scott, I don't know what to believe anymore. Why would Chechens and not, say, Palestinians come here? Other than to scare moms, of course. I think this is likely an anti-immigration special interest effort to pressure the government. When Bush starts talking about this, I'll know the effort succeeded. But there are wealthy interests who want that cheap labor to do battle with. But when Republicans can ram through any legislation in the of name of defending the country or supporting the troops or patriotism or fear, I guess having those same tactics turned back around on you is fair game.
