« ACORN Involved in Voter Registration Fraud in Pennsylvania? | Main | He's Got the TagliaBlues »

A Very Good Question

voterfraudlogo.GIF

My efforts to catalog voter registration fraud have sparked an avalanche of email from readers, including a good one from "Ken" who proposes a very good question for tomorrow night's third and final presidential debate:

Wouldn't it be great if we could get both candidates to answer - on the record, how they feel about instituting a national law requiring proper ID for everyone at the voting polls for all elections? And if not, why not?
A very good question.

I think this is a great question and I have been saying for years that we should require a picture ID AND require a birth certificate for first time registration. If you are against this you are against fair voting practices.

I am prompted to ponder what might constitute appropriate punishment for those convicted of vote fraud.

I am a kind of "hang 'em all, let God sort 'em out" kind of guy when criminality is involved. If it were up to me, interfering with the democratic process would rank right up there with treason.

Indeed, what's the fundamental difference between vote fraud and an attempted coup d'etat (apart from the violence, of course)? I see none.

National ID card? Will you add the hammer and sickle to our flag before or after you do this?

This wouldn't help with the problem that's sprung up in Las Vegas. There are allegations that voter registration forms have been destroyed for people trying to register as Democrats.

hey, maybe all those votes that ol W had stolen in florida at the last election might come in handy for him in this election, doesn't matter if they r democrat votes for gore, im sure ol W and ol Jeb can figure out some way to recycle them and get those votes counted for ol W. and please dont pass this little hint on to ol W, processing an idea like this with his brain may just cause it to explode due to overwork.

If the Dems would give back all the votes they've stolen through the years, Bush would win in a landslide. Democrats are past masters at election fraud, Republicans are just beginning to catch on...

Great idea, especially if that's coupled with Same-Day Registration to allow citizens who's ballots somehow (malignantly or not) were lost in the paper chase, or who simply hadn't found the time to fill out the form before then, to still cast their vote. This has been done in several states and has increased participation without increasing fraud accross the board.

It's a good, healthy thing for democracy.

Reminds me of a Dem's response to Allen Keyes remark that Jesus wouldn't vote for O'bama. "That is irrelevant Jesus hasn't voted in Illinois since 1960 when he voted for John F. Kennedy twice.
