About 200 "citizens" who don't exist registered to vote in Davidson County for the Nov. 2 presidential election and now the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the person who submitted those forms on behalf of Tennessee Citizen Action (TCA).The Nashville City Paper has the details. Tennessee Citizen Action is a left-wing organization and often works in conjunction with all of the other liberal/left-wing organizations that plague Tennessee politics. Remember: If It's Not Close They Can't Cheat. Friday is the last day to register to vote in Tennessee. See this post for details on how to get registered in Tennessee. UPDATE: You're welcome, Hugh. http://www.nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=9&screen=news&news_id=35259 Tennessee Citizen Action never met a liberal cause that they didn't like. What I'd like to know is, where do they get their money? Who funds them? Are they connected with MoveOn.org? I know they are connected with usaction.org and publicampaign.org, two left-wing activist organizations, but I'm not sure where they get their money. I've been researching this group for some time and have basically read every article that has ever been posted online about them, their current director and their past directors John Rutherford and Erik Cole. Rutherford is particularly partisan, although he now is apparently only a board member. Bill, If you are interested in more about them, I'll consider contacting you directly if will keep my identity private. I'd like to see an IRS investigation into this group to see if they truly qualify for non-profit status. Posted by: TimeWillTell at September 28, 2004 08:20 AMAbsolutely. Privacy assured. Send me an email to bill-at-billhobbs-dot-com. TCA has now been caught engaging in voter fraud. I'd love to heap more burning coals atop their heads. Posted by: Bill Hobbs at September 28, 2004 09:11 AMHey Bill, I'm glad someone is shining a litle light on TCA. Here is what I posted on the City Paper comment line. Let's not forget, TCA is a local branch of Citizen Action, the organization that was a key player in the 1996 Teamster money laundering scandal. Citizen Action was founded by Heather Booth, a member of the marxist radical Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in the sixties. Citizen Action has a long long history of fraudulant activity on behalf of the Democratic Party. Look into Heather Booth, and her husband Paul Booth--a Union bigwig. Heather is currently a paid consultant for Moveon.org, a former DNC employee and the former director of the NAACP voter fund. She is also a founder of the current manifestation of "Citizen Action" and is on their board. (the original Citizen Action went under in the wake of the Teamster money laundering scandal in 1996). She and her cohorts have been fraudualntly using non-profits in the service of the DNC for YEARS. Posted by: Jenv at September 28, 2004 09:28 AMNAACP voter fund? I swear their name popped up in an earlier voter fraud case. Was it in Milwaukee or Cleveland? Posted by: Robert Crawford at September 28, 2004 10:50 AMThis will probably turn out to be less than a matter of voter fraud than of an employee scamming his employer. Many of these voter registration organizations pay piecework, by registration form filled out, and don't bother to check for accuracy. Employees knowing that scam them by filling out false forms. It's actually kind of funny. I'm more concerned by people double voting using absentee ballots. I wonder just what kind of checks are placed in the system to make sure someone who has voted by mail hasn't actually showed up at his polling place to vote again. In the link I posted above, TCA claims that it does not pay piecework to the people who are registering "voters." So, then, what is the incentive other than to commit fraud? Posted by: TimeWillTell at September 28, 2004 11:10 AMHere it is: Lake election and law enforcement officials said their investigation is centered on absentee registration attempts by the nonpartisan NAACP's National Voter Fund and an anti-Bush, nonprofit group called Americans Coming Together, or ACT Ohio. 1,000 cases of suspicious voter registrations Posted by: Robert Crawford at September 28, 2004 11:10 AMHere's a link to USACTION, the "consumer" non-profit former SDSer Heather Booth started when Citizen Action folded as a result of the Teamster's money laundering scandal in 1996: click the affiliates link, then TN on the map, and you will find a link to Tennessee Citizen Action. USACtion is also a member of the "Win Without War" coalition that is bankrolled by both Soros through moveon.org and the uber-radical Tides foundation--a non-profit used by orgs like the Heinz Family Foundation to funnell money into radical causes without having their fingerprints on it. No doubt, TCA and their "get out to vote" efforts are a part of the Sorros/moveon.org/DNC effort to push millions of non-profit dollars into the election process. I wouldn't put anything past these people... Posted by: at September 28, 2004 04:08 PMHere's what USAction has to say about Tennessee Citizen Action on their web site: Affiliates in Action Tennessee Contact Information Recent Updates TNCA, in coalition with other groups, is driving a major health care access campaign across Tennessee. For the past six months, the coalition has organized public rallies and press conferences against sweeping budget cuts to Tennessee's TennCare program. Current proposals at the legislature will cut 60,000 to 450,000 people off TennCare, making them rely on “cans and jars” for health care. People are leaving these cans and jars at convenience stores to collect spare change for neighbors in need of medical care who may lose their TennCare coverage. TNCA has held four press conferences featuring actual cans and jars with photos, descriptions, and testimonials from local recipients. Four more press conferences are planned across the state. As soon as the fairly conservative Democrat Rep. Bob Clement announced he was running for the open Senate seat, a TNCA delegation quickly met with him to discuss our position on prescription drug coverage. He is now a co-sponsor of HR 1400, the Allen Bill, and agrees with us that any prescription drug program in Medicare must include price controls. As the election season progresses, TNCA and our coalition partners will hold him to this position. Post a comment
