I Blame The Bush Tax Cuts

Post-Convention Bush Buoyed by Jobs Numbers - Reuters. Strong job growth in July, unemployment fell to 5.4 percent as there were 144,000 new jobs created. The Bush economic policies have created 1.7 million new jobs in the past year - and that's just if you count factory and big-employer jobs tracked by the government's Payroll Survey. Overall employment, thanks to a surging small-business and entrepreneurial sector, has risen much faster. Since August 2003, the Bush economic policies have generated 2.056 million new jobs.

Bill, I've put up some graphs at my blog. Two posts, since I wanted to feature black unemployment separately.

I also blame President Bush for lying last year. Now we know the Bush economic policies have created 1.7 million new jobs when last year he only forecasted the creation of 1.4 million jobs before the election (an even greater period of time). Shame(!) for underesitmating his own success and doing better than everyone could have expected. (sarcasm off) BZ!

Bill,

Another deceptive number...5.4% is great, but why are people carping about job LOSS? In reality, if you look at the number of net employed individuals, it has risen from 135 million and change in 2000 to over 139 million now, a net GAIN of almost 4 million. Good luck finding any of this from the elite media. Keep up the good work.
