« Your Tax Dollars at Work | Main | Oil War? » July 2, 2004A Reader Involvment OpportunityReader Chris W. from Knoxville forwarded me this post from the excellent Blackfive blog about legislation stalled in the Senate that would make it easier for our troops in Iraq to get things they need. HR 4323 is a bill designed to give the Department of Defense the ability to have Rapid Acquisition Authority (RAA). This ability is desired in order to speed up deployments, make them more effective and to provide adequate protection and facilities for our troops during combat emergencies. It passed the House, despite opposition from many, many Democrats, but is stalled in the Senate. Blackfive has ways you can help. Posted in War on Terror

Many, many thanks to you, Bill, and Chris W. for supporting this and helping to get the word out. Posted by: Blackfive at July 2, 2004 09:57 AMPlease everyone, contact your Senator on this issue. There's a VERY quick way to send your senator an e-mail. It's at http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm Please also send Senator Levin an e-mail to let him know your feelings about his office's blockage of this bill from vote.
