« It's (Another Lie) For the Children | Main | Is Michael Moore Bigger than Jesus? » June 28, 2004Fired UpThinking of seeing Michael Moore's lie-fest, Fahrenheit 9/11, but don't like the thought of putting money into Moore's rather large pockets (and from there, no doubt, into Moveon.org or some other organization allied with the Kerry presidential campaign)? Here's a suggestion: Buy a ticket to a different movie, and see Fahrenheit 9/11 instead. Posted in Campaign Season

Does personal distaste for the mendacity of Michael Moore justify what is, essentially, lying...and theft? Posted by: Jon Henke at June 28, 2004 10:58 AMI think that is a fine idea - please, I urge all of you to see the film any way that you have too Even if it means stealing - as Bill suggests... Posted by: a. at June 28, 2004 01:05 PMI wonder if he'll pay "his fair share" in taxes. Posted by: Sandy P at June 28, 2004 03:18 PMwhat's the problem, Jon? Mikie himself said he would "sneak in" those under the age to see an "R" rated film. That's theft. Buying a ticket to one movie and then seeing another isn't really theft, when the money-maker himself is offering to do something worse. Don't cry for Mikie, he's just fine with the multimillions he already has. Posted by: jcrue at June 28, 2004 03:47 PMIt's still theft. Yes, even if "Mike did it first". C'mon. Would you let your child get away with an excuse that facile? I think not. So, why are "the good guys" advocating theft and lying? Seriously. Posted by: Jon Henke at June 28, 2004 06:59 PMBecause we began our career of thievery by STEALING THE LEFT'S PLAYBOOK! Posted by: SDN at June 28, 2004 07:58 PMWhat's the worst that could happen? Public humiliation in front of your neighbors. In the event of a sell-out showing (and most of them are), all it would take is a zealous theater manager, to up the lights, tell everyone to have their tickets ready, et voila (that's french for "busted"). I hope one of you put this to the test. Nothing like a red-faced, humiliated, thieving republican in the midst of a red-meat seeking Mooreophile crowd to keep this grin on my face. Try it. You'll like it. Posted by: adaplant at June 29, 2004 04:58 PMPost a comment
