Mike Hollihan has the extensively researched details on the article, which predicts a military draft if President Bush is re-elected, and his encounters with the alleged plagiarizer. (Ed. Note: Hollihan's Blogspot permalinks don't seem to be working - imagine that - so if this direct link doesn't work, just go to http://halfbakered.blogspot.com and look for the items posted June 27, titled "A Carefully Constructed Lie," and "A UPDATE: I have edited the above post to delete a reference to an anti-semitic website. Hollihan emailed to say he didn't believe the professor got the email from that website, only that the anti-semitic website was one of many websites that have previously published the email that the professor is suspected of plagiarizing. Hollihan: "I have no clue where the professor found the email. He claims never seeing it at all." Okay, then. Posted in Blogging & Journalism

This seems like something CBU donors and alumni would like to know. Posted by: Lance at June 28, 2004 09:37 AM"...from an anti-semitic website..." Please note that *I* found a copy of the LaPaire email on the Net through that link. I *am not* saying Dr. Easson is, or has any, linkage to anti-Semitism! It was purely coincidental to find that link on that page. I'm the one who reads the site, not Dr. Easson. I am *not* anti-Semitic, but a conspiracy reading buff, which is why I was there. I just want to make those points clear. Thanks for the link, Bill. Posted by: mike hollihan at June 28, 2004 10:56 AMBoth of my Graduate degrees come from CBU, and I am still grateful for the opportunity they provided. For several years I contributed $500 annually (in appreciated stock) but stopped when I was offended by a particularly partisan and nasty guest editorial in the local paper by Peter Gathje, a member of the "Peace and Justice Center" which has its home at CBU. Gathje is also a teacher there, but seems to spend most of his time in the kind of junk protests that have proliferated as the left grows more desparate. This professor Easson seems to be just another example of the puerile thinking of the leftist mind, albeit far less creative, original, and honest. As a previous donor I receive many solicitations from them. They all receive the same answer. They are free to speak their minds, and I am free to refuse to donate to support their insulting and dishonest tirades. Since retiring, I have been teaching economics at another college. Perhaps one day I will return to teach there, and will have the opportunity to counter some of the liberal miasma that wafts from parts of the campus. Certainly, the level of understanding of economics in this country is far below what it should be, and I want to do my part to correct that. I would like to be able to do so where I graduated.
