Extreme Leftists Watch

Extreme leftist blogger Kos, who once celebrated the deaths of Americans working in Iraq, now is expressing joy that ads for Michael Moore's new movie Fahrenheit 9/11 will effectively evade campaign finance reform restrictions while working as both movie ads and campaign ads against President Bush. Ironically, within the same post, Kos decries the possibility that if John Kerry wins the election, Republicans might use the same tactic four years from now - producing an anti-Kerry "movie" and then running ads for it - while expressing great joy that Moore is doing it now.

Meanwhile, Democrats are celebrating Ronald Reagan's death with an outpouring of hearfelt sludge at DemocraticUnderground. Warning: Highly offensive language if you click the link. The only excerpt I could print without offending my mom:

I don't care what killed him, alzhiemers or the black plague, I'm glad he's dead and I don't care how many times I'm scolded or chastised for it.
There's an avalanche of that kind of disgusting celebration of Reagan's death at DU, a website frequented by the cretins who inhabit one wing of the Democratic Party. You won't hear Democratic party leaders or their presumtpive presidential nominee John Kerry talk like this - at least not publically. But you won't hear Kerry disavow these slime either. He can't win the White House without them.

UPDATE: More sludge from the Left. The guy who wrote this sleeps each night unendangered by nuclear holocaust thanks to Reagan, but he can't find one nice word to say.

UPDATE: Kerry has cancelled his public campaign events through Friday. That's the honorable and decent thing to do and I applaud him for it.

Bill

A few wackos... You have them on your side as well - If Bill Clinton died today, I would be able to find postings celebrating his death all over the Web.

There is no need to act like most of us are not sad to see Reagan die. He was the American president - and he was a great leader - even if I disagreed with a lot of what he did.

Bill - it is VERY uncool of you to try to insinuate that john Kerry somehow shares the views of some random angry posters you found on the Web. You chastize others for politicizing the death of President Reagan - but in suggesting that Kerry is gleeful at Reagan's death that is EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

I'm suprized that you don't see the irony in your own postings...

This is beneath you...

Please note that I titled the post "Extreme Lefists Watch," not "Mainstream Democrats Watch." I don't accuse Kerry of saying this crap, only suggest that he disavow it.

Bill -

Here is part of what you said:

You won't hear Democratic party leaders or their presumtpive presidential nominee John Kerry talk like this - at least not publically.

See - you suggest that Kerry may be privately happy that Reagan is dead... Which is charaterizing Kerry as a person who hates Reagan - Thus you are politicizing Reagan's death...

The truth is that Kerry has nothing to do with Reagan's death or the unfortunate comments that you found on the Web

Kerry has, in fact, suspended his campaign out of respect for Reagan. But you did not mention that...

Bill,

I *thought* that I had made a post here mentioning that John Kerry links to Democratic Underground on his campaign website.

If I'm just an idiot and screwed up the posting, here it is again.

However, I had used an epithet for John Kerry that might have offended or caused the removal of the post - if that is the case, I am sorry for the expletive.

Regards

Bill-

It is dishonest for you to claim Kos celebrated the deaths.

Saying "Screw 'em" is simply not the same as saying "Good." One implies a lack of caring/concern, the other suggests genuine glee.

The guy who wrote this sleeps each night unendangered by nuclear holocaust thanks to Reagan, but he can't find one nice word to say.

Yeah Bill, I was not doing much during the Beloved One's tenure, just.. let's see... deploying off the coast of Iran; flying SSSC/recon missions against Soviet warships, supporting battlegroups off the coast of Vladivostok; standing the duty one night when that OPREP-3 came in telling us about an accident that claimed the lives of four friends who flew into the water; watching a squadron-mate hit the ramp, no, me and other ex-military types who don't particularly like Reagan weren't doing much. I wasn't doing much. Oh, except for that Seven Years pretty much back-to-back at sea.

What were you doing while we (me and other vets who didn't like Ronnie) were not doing anything that earned us the right to speak our minds in the way we want? Ah, nothing, just like you are now.

What was I doing during the Reagan years? Well, I was a teenager, and then a college student. I was thanking God every night that we had a president who rebuilt the military, revived American pride, and stood up to the commies. Oh, and since then I've been paying the taxes that pay the salaries of the people in the military, Jo.

I fail to see where in the post I accused you of not doing anything, Jo. I simply note that Reagan ended the Cold War and the threat of Soviet nuclear annihilation, and it would be nice if some on the Left would thank him for it.

By the way, the group of vets who don't like Reagan that you mentioned - do you have your annual convention in a broom closet or a phone booth?

According to my brother (a disbled vet who died three months ago), the Vets Who Don't Like Reagan meetings are held daily at VA hospitals across the country. And here is some more bad news for you, they like George II even less, and even the one's that like Reagan come to the Vets Who Don't Like Bush meetings. The very last time I talked to him, he was telling about sitting in a waiting room at the VA with vets from WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf War I, and they were all trashing Dubya's policies. I guess they all just hate America
