Small Business Trends

Anita Campbell has some thoughts and links related to the changing American economy. Short version: it's becoming more entrepreneurial.

Five factors in the trend: Large corporations want to be leaner and meaner, and so they are outsourcing functions rather than staffing them in-house. It's easier than ever to start your own company. An aging baby-boomer population is finding itself better situated to be self-employed or business owners. And even small businesses are outsourcing.

Read the whole thing. And put Small Business Trends on your blogroll if you're in to business blogging.

UPDATE: From the same blog comes two sets of data showing small businesses are starting to hire. Given that small businesses are responsible for most of the employment in America, that's great news.
