« Pregnant Blogs | Main | Thoughts on Tennessee Politics and Taxes » April 5, 2004Tennessee Tax CoverageLongtime readers of HobbsOnline know that I have written extensively about Tennessee state government's revenue situation and tax policy and a proposal called the Taxpayers Bill of Rights over the last two-plus years. That work is paying off. Run a Google search for Tennessee revenue and, as of right now, this website is listed fourth in the search results. It's also in the top 10 results for Tennessee taxpayers rights. The link goes to my Taxpayers Bill of Rights category archive. Unfortunately on Google it's still (temporarily) one spot below the link to the Tennessee Department of Revenue's web PDF file explaining the state's toothless and cynically named Taxpayers Bill of Rights that provides taxpayers no protection at all against excessive taxation or uncontrolled spending. Those two searches are typical search phrases someone might Google in search of truthful information about Tennessee's budget situation or about the proposed Taxpayers Bill of Rights. A blog doesn't have to have 100,000 daily readers to have an impact. Though 100,000 readers of course would be an asset. Posted in Tennessee Budget & Tax Policy
