« A Question for Kerry | Main | Saddam and 9/11? » February 6, 2004Blair BloggingFrom The Guardian: The Labour party is considering giving Tony Blair a weblog as part of its attempt to make its general election campaign an "engaging dialogue with the British people". Douglas Alexander, Labour's election coordinator, told Guardian Unlimited he is considering "all means to communicate with the voters directly" for the campaignGood for Blair. I'd like to see a Blair Blog - and hope he wins reelection. I'm not a huge fan of his domestic policies in Britain, but he's been America's best ally since September 11, 2001, a strong and true friend in the War on Terror. Posted in Blogging & Politics

Tell us when he launches it! Posted by: dadmanly at February 6, 2004 02:43 PMTootie farted on Ms. Garrett Posted by: heeby jaco at February 6, 2004 02:49 PMTootie most certainly did not! Posted by: bandoleer at February 6, 2004 04:57 PMHis domestic policies are terrible! Please understand that that Tony Blair is a left wing abberation, a supposed left-winger, hated by the 'true' left, who was in the CND in the 1980's until he realised it wasn't a vote winner. If a Conservative PM had been in power the US would have been even *more* well supported. Look at Thatcher for instance. The *worst* thing that could happen to Britain is that he gets a third term! Posted by: Tony (UK) at February 6, 2004 06:45 PMPersonally I love true leader blogs. Paul Martin (our PM) has one, not updated often enough though. Pres Jimmy Carter has a great one. While I don't agree with much of Blair's FOREIGN policy, he's done alright for Britain during his terms and I'd love to read what he personally had to say. Posted by: Jeremy C. Wright at February 6, 2004 07:13 PMTony Blair is a brilliant man, and one quick thinking politician as opposed to the moron we have "running" the U.S. There is an old saying that goes "the devil is in the details"; I think we are at a critical juncture where "God needs to be in the details".......... is there middle ground somewhere... any where.... can't we choose an option that causes the least amount of pain? Posted by: eieio at February 6, 2004 07:36 PMWonder if he'll have a tipjar pledge drive, like Sullivan? Posted by: The Sanity Inspector at February 6, 2004 10:52 PMeieio: Start using ' instead of " for your irony/scare quotes. Posted by: Timothy Lang at February 6, 2004 11:33 PMPaul Martin's blog is dullsville. It's like a parody of what a blog could be. Glimpses of real opinions but always in that distinctive, measured tone of the staid politico. There's nothing in there that couldn't have been written by some anonymous party hack. No personality at all. I'll take John Howard every single day of every single week. His is the very definition of a sweet political blog. Booyah. Posted by: Wendy at February 7, 2004 12:11 AMPlease, don't forget Spain's José María Aznar, he also went all-out for the Coalition...and I have the impression that he's more of a decent guy (in his beliefs and policies, not as a person)than Blair. My two cents here. Posted by: Miguel at February 13, 2004 05:09 AMPost a comment
