« Full Tilt | Main | The Nine Dwarves on Entrepreneurship » January 13, 2004Climb DownPaul O'Neill is climbing down: People are trying to say that I said the president was planning war in Iraq early in the administration. Actually there was a continuation of work that had been going on in the Clinton administration with the notion that there needed to be a regime change in Iraq.I don't expect the Bush-haters will acknowledge O'Neill's explanation - they're too busy trying to portray O'Neill as a major whistleblower. I saw the Chicago Sun-Times headline today, and of course I don't know how to get it..... Posted by: Sandy P. at January 13, 2004 11:38 AMGiven how some members on the left have tried to credit Bill Clinton with the successes in the war (he had a plan for invading Afghanistan, it was his military that defeated Iraq, etc.), one would think they would jump on this as more proof of Clinton's defense and foreigh affairs greatness. Of course, that would also mean they would have to stop blaming Bush for getting us into a "quagmire". So, that may be too high of a price to pay.
