« Blogs: Fact-Checking Big Media | Main | Taxpayers Bill of Rights » January 5, 2004Taxpayers Bill of RightsThe Independence Institute in Golden, Colorado, has launched a new Fiscal Policy Center dedicated to supporting Colorado's Taxpayers Bill of Rights. Colorado's decade-old TABOR amendment is considered the model for legislation aimed at controlling the growth of taxes and government spending, and it is under attack by Colorado special interests that support higher taxes and uncontrolled spending growth. Regular readers of HobbsOnline know I've written numerous posts on TABOR, and on efforts to bring that sensible protection to Tennessee. Those posts are all located online at my blog's old site, but because that site is difficult to search, I will soon re-publish them all here at BillHobbs.com. In the meantime, be sure to check out The Case for a Real Tennessee Taxpayers Bill of Rights, my "white paper" on constitutional limits on taxing and spending, and why the time is right for such a law in Tennessee.
