« Twice as Nice in the Twin Cities | Main | No Credibility » September 4, 2008Welcome to the FutureAmerican music critic, manager and record producer Jon Landau once famously declared that he had seen the future of rock and roll and its name was Bruce Springsteen. Well, I have seen the future of the Republican Party tonight, and its name is Sarah Palin. Comment from Lorie Byrd: "How stupid must Democrats feel right now? Who decided it would be a good strategy to kick a Mama Bear?" In fact, her performance was even better than it first appeared. The next Ronald Reagan wears heels. Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass says Palin "poses the greatest threat yet to the Obama reform narrative." The cynical epic has become the establishment media bedtime story, with Obama as the young King Arthur riding forth to promise change. In this, the Washington Beltway media colony has been his eager Merlin, hoping to guide him, cleaving desperately to the theme that he's some kind of reformer, even though Obama is a politician backed by Chicago's Daley machine and never once challenged the political corruption in Chicago and Illinois. Not ever. The in-the-tank-for-Obama liberal national media had their head handed to them tonight by a smiling hockey mom from small-town Alaska. Posted in Campaign Season

The Saracuda is on the prowl, and judging from the MSM, there is blood in the water! Posted by: Tregonsee at September 4, 2008 7:58 AMAce, bad language and all, slices and dices the Left and the MSM (sorry, redundant) for not realizing that Palin's experience in beauty pageants and as a sportscaster would likely make her pretty comfortable on a big stage with a teleprompter. Posted by: stan at September 4, 2008 9:41 AMIt's almost embarassing to me as an American to have Barrack Obama even qualified to be on the ticket. If he wasn't black ( 16%) , he would be #65 back in line. What a inadequate way to measure the qualifications of a person to lead the world. Mike Chilando Posted by: Mike Chilando at September 4, 2008 12:25 PMBeing comfortable on a big stage without a working teleprompter, though, was all her. Heh. Posted by: McGehee at September 5, 2008 7:39 AMThis proves to me that the primary selections are all done too early. Normal people don't pay attention until the last few months and those people swing the election. The earlier the Primary, the more likely the extremes of both side will take control over the choices. Moving the primary up might also lower the cost of the election too. An early primary might be justified if there was a lot of education that needed to take place but I don't see any education on anything taking place, especially with energy policy. It seems like folks only set down roots and try to protect their long held prejudices. The useful idiots, bless their hearts, only grope around for someone they can believe in or someone who has good intentions. Posted by: Danny L. Newton at September 6, 2008 7:13 PMPost a comment
