The New York Times reports at a number of schools that are handing out iPhones to all students, to be used for everything from campuswide communications to online learning. Among the schools mentioned: Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee, where my niece just enrolled; Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City; the University of Maryland, and my alma mater, Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Bonus points if you figure out which one of those is not like the other - and why.

I know the answer, but it wasn't really a fair question for anyone with a church of Christ background. As a faculty member at one of those schools, I have to say it's pretty cool. We'll see what impact it has on learning though.
