McCain's Surge

The Quinnipiac/Washington Post/Wall Street Journal Survey says: McCain makes significant gains in key battleground states. And the majority of voters in the key battleground states of Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin favor keeping troops in Iraq until the job is done, not pulling them out by an abitrary deadline.

Those numbers regarding troops are virtually split. Let's not forget Obama is currently leading by big margins in MN and WI.

We've just begun to see the beginnings of the reaction to Obama's Europe tour. Already Rasmussen and Gallup daily tracking are showing some of the biggest gains by Obama in weeks, Gallup has Obama +7, Rasmussen Obama +6.

It looks like a fleeting bounce.

Gallup: No Sustained Bounce for Obama From Trip Abroad

Yes Bill, exactly what we heard from Fox News 4 1/2 hrs after the Obama Berlin speech: "No Berlin Bounce" they reported referencing a poll taken the day before.
Gallup Tracking has Obama by +9 and +8 the past 2 days, the largest lead ever in that poll which has a large sampling over 3 days and a margin of error of just 2%

Do you not pay attention? Gallup - which had Obama with a big post-trip bounce that gave him a 9-point lead - now says the bounce is dwindling. His lead is now six.

And then there's the latest USA Today/Gallup poll. Their words: "Could John McCain benefit from Barack Obama's much-publicized foreign trip? Several observations from the just-completed USA Today/Gallup poll suggest that this is a possibility."

Barely more than a third of Americans have a positive opinion of Obama's overseas trip, and Gallup's poll also found that the trip may have reinforced the growing view among Americans that the media is working hard to support Obama.

Ironically, as that belief grows and hardens, it may help McCain, Gallup says.

Funny, grasping at one red straw in a sea of blue ... no wonder McCain is showing his desperation by the new juvenile RNC attack ads. (Reminds me of the TN GOP vs Harold Ford). You should be proud.

I know it's tough to be on the losing side, supporter of the most unpopular president in history. I know it's a tough gig.
