A Nation of Immigrants

A couple of legal immigrants are vying to be the Republican nominee to challenge Democrat U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper's hold on the Fifth District seat in Tennessee. They are Vijay Kumar, who emigrated to America from Hyderabad, India, about 30 years ago, and Gerard Donovan, who was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and moved to the U.S. with his family while in his teens and later served in the U.S. Marines.

The Tennessean featured both in a story Monday.

Front Page recently interviewed Kumar on the issue of Islamic terrorism.

Kumar has a YouTube page with a few video ads up. Donovan has a Flickr photo page.

The Tennessee Republican Party is neutral in primaries.
