You Don't Mess With The Obama

Two weeks ago, Barack Obama asserted that his wife - who is making campaign appearances and speeches on his behalf - is off limits to criticism. Now, he seems to be trying to claim that he is allowed to decide what questions the press may and may not ask him.

Funny, I thought we had a free press in this country, and a First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of speech, and that journalists (and, indeed, anybody) can ask of their politicians and candidates whatever they or we want to ask.

Of course, Obama is free to answer each question he is asked or to not answer it, to duck and dodge if he so chooses. Which is what he, in fact, chose to do Thursday when asked about whether a video recording really exists that is rumored - on leftwing blogs - to show Obama's wife using a racial slur. Rather than answer the question, Obama attacked the media for daring to ask the question, and never directly answered the question.

Barack Obama is slicker than Slick Willie ever was.
