« While I Was Away... | Main | Anatomy of a Political Smear » June 13, 2008Democrat Superdelagate Says Obama Might Have Terrorist ConnectionsA member of the Tennessee Democratic Party State Executive Committee say he thinks Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama might have terrorist connections - and his chief of staff says he doesn't know for sure, reports John Rodgers in today's Nashville City Paper: Fred Hobbs*, a state Democratic Party Executive Committee member representing part of [U.S. Rep. Lincoln] Davis'' district, said he understands why Davis is not endorsing Obama and is "skeptical" of the Illinois senator himself. For the record: I do not know Fred Hobbs and am proud to say I am not related to him in any way. Update: According to the TNDP, Fred Hobbs is not a "superdelegate." But he is one of the leaders of the Tennessee Democrat Party. Update 2: While the TNDP denounced Fred Hobbs' statement, it blames eeeeevilllll Republicans for making Fred say it. Meanwhile, former TNDP chairman Bob Tuke managed to condemn the statements by Fred Hobbs and Beecher Frasier without mentioning either their names or the fact that both are Democrats. * No relation to me whatsoever.
