Pitching Softballs

Brent Baker at NewsBusters.org says Monday's news cycle "provided a great example of a network correspondent advancing Barack Obama's political cause by treating him as a victim of a nefarious GOP attack, thus allowing him to appear virtuous in his reply, an answer the other networks then highlighted to enhance the victimization theme." Hard to argue with that - except, Barack Obama didn't come across as virtuous in his reply to Good Morning America, he came across as an arrogant elitist demanding that his campaign be allowed immunity from certain types of scrutiny or criticism.
