Reconsidering That Prius

The problem is and always will be that the vehicle is personal, private, not bought with tax money or was bought in spite of taxation to discourage private ownership. There are some people out there who will never be satisfied until we are all peddeling trains and bicycles. They hate capitalism which makes it possible for large groups of people to move freely about the state and country.


In Europe and Japan, the best train systems already exist, cost over a dollar per passenger mile but people with the ability to do so will still buy a car even when there is a poor chance of operating it on a good, safe road system or even having a place to park it.

I am surprised that they don't complain about the ozone that an electric motor usually emits near the brushes. I suppose that could be taken care of in several ways. The "danger" that they see is to their world view, not to anyone's health.
